On November 28, at the Manitoba Legislative Building, Vice President of the Northwest Métis Council, Frances Chartrand, received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Manitoba) celebrates the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne, which began on February 6, 2022. One thousand medals will be awarded at ceremonies throughout the province during the Platinum Jubilee year.

Frances Chartrand is also a board member for the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre, and Manitoba Aboriginal Head Start. Manitoba Aboriginal Head Start has also appointed Frances as the provincial representative on the National Aboriginal Head Start Council.
