SUMMARY

Reporting to the A.H.S. Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for preparing meals/snacks and providing transportation to preschool children and their families.
The position starts at $15.00 per hour with a class 5 and position starts at $16.00 per hour with a Class 4 with a work week of 35 hrs Monday to Friday.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Food Safe Certificate or ability to obtain one promptly.
  • Valid Manitoba Class 4 license or ability to obtain one promptly.
  • Clean Drivers Abstract

Note:

A Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and double vaccination of the individual is required.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the A.H.S. Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for providing and implementing cultural, language and educational activities to preschool children and their families. The incumbent is responsible for caring for children.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Early Childhood Educator Diploma or the combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated previous experience working with children and families.
  • The ability to perform their duties on a regular basis.
  • Valid Manitoba Class 4 license or ability to obtain one promptly.

SUMMARY

Reporting to Aboriginal Head Start Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for administrative and programming duties in relation to parents/families at the AHS Program. The incumbent is responsible ensuring policies and procedures are followed, communicating with parents, maintaining parent files and making community connections to provide support services to AHS families. The incumbent is responsible for reporting promptly to the coordinator any information, concerns and matters that have a bearing on the operation of the AHS Program. This position requires the exercise of confidentiality, initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently and to relate to people at all levels both within and external to the Centre.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a good knowledge of computer skills i.e.: Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
  • Diploma in Aboriginal Community Development or equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Evidence of ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment.
  • Oral skills and ability to communicate by written communication i.e., correspondence and reports.
  • Previous experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to organize and/or present educational topics to AHS families.
  • Experience and knowledge of all local, Community and Aboriginal Resources.
  • Demonstrated experience with minute taking.
  • The ability to perform their duties on a regular basis.
